We'll explore the mandala pattern through use of applying colour on a simple prepared mandala template and gradually explore designing our own personal mandala that symbolize your unique creativity and spirituality.
Using coloured pencils and user-friendly (non-toxic) ink markers, you'll also learn some historical background information about Mandala that will further assist us in using these "life circles" as a relaxation and focusing tool. No previous art experience is required.

Create a series of images in 4"x6" card format utilizing collage techniques to create an accessible visual journal which will assist you in accessing your own inner wisdom. Soul cards allow the participant to reveal their personal story and use it as a restorative art-making process. The making of these cards is a way of supporting oneself and affirming your journey in an expressive and non-judgmental environment.
Collage and composition techniques will be reviewed, however, the goal is to simply provide opportunity for self-exploration to allow participants to create a "work of heart" which allows creative self-expression that is empowering. Guidance and encouragement is available throughout the workshop.
Special Note: If you are interested in a course, gather a few like-minded friends and register together. In this way I can often accommodate your schedule. Classes usually run Saturdays & Sundays unless other days are available or specified within the course outline. All classes (excluding the floorcloths/mural workshop) are not structured for advanced painters; they are designed especially for those who have introductory, intermediate or no experience painting. These are courses to assist in tapping into & releasing creativity. For those interested in more advanced instruction, please call (905) 932-8356
